 UKS College Dakra Established in 1990 for higher Education by co-operation of some Social Leader, Worker and Contribution of the CCL to the Welfare of the Women, And Financial Backward classes.It is 70 KM far from Ranchi and Nearby Mandar College (40 KM). It situated in the heart of North Karnpura Coal Area .The founder Principal Damodar Singh and some Professor started classes in a small part of Vidya Vikas Kendra (H/S) High School,dakra. At present UKS College has a Spacious Building and a rich Library & Laboratory for Students. The College aims to the nature the all around development of personality and bring out the talent of quality of the Student and Urge them to undertake creative activity besides of academic growth. Most of student comes from the lower strata of society, the college aim to help them to improve their inner and outer personality to develop their confidence and to participate without any hesitation and inferiority complex.     

 

उत्तरी कर्णपुरा श्रमिक महाविद्यालय, डकरा, राँची जिला के सूदूरवर्ती ग्रामीणक्षेत्र एन० के० एरिया डकरा में अवस्थित है साथ ही यह क्षेत्र  अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति एवं पिछड़ी जाति बाहुल्य है । यहाँ सी० सी० एल० द्वारा कोयले के खनन का कार्य होता है जिसमें वृहत पैमाने पर श्रमिक खनन कार्य में लगे हुए हैं । इन श्रमिकों के बच्चों को उच्च शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के लिए यहाँ से 40 कि० मी० दुरी पर एक मात्र MANDAR  महाविद्यालय,  Mandarअवस्थित है तथा दूसरा 70 कि० मी० दुरी पर अवस्थित है ।अतः इस कठिनाई को देखते हुए समाजसेवी, बुध्दिजीवी ग्रामीण एवं सी० सी० एल० के अधिकारियों ने एक महाविद्यालय खोलने का संकल्प लिया और सन 1990 से महाविद्यालय खोलकर  Education का कार्य प्रारंभ किया ।संस्थान में छात्राओं की संख्या काफी है ।Security की दृष्टिकोण से सभी अभिभावक अपने बच्चों को नजदीक से नजदीक संस्थान में ही एजुकेशन ग्रहण करवाने का प्रयास करते हैं जिसमें उत्तरी कर्णपुरा श्रमिक महाविद्यालय यहाँ के अभिभावकों के लिए वरदान साबित हो रहा है । यहाँ के छात्र प्रतियोगिताओं में अव्वल स्थान पा रहे हैं ।
